Ecosystem
Neuromorphic Sweden is a meeting point across institutional and disciplinary boundaries. No single organization represents the breadth of the field.
A distributed capability
The 2025 national mapping found internationally connected research and strong industrial domains, but limited collaboration between materials, circuits, algorithms and systems.
The names below indicate activity documented by the feasibility studies. They are not a membership list and should not be read as exhaustive or ranked.
Research documented across Chalmers, KTH, Linköping, Luleå, Lund, Mälardalen, Stockholm, Umeå, Uppsala, Örebro and the University of Gothenburg.
National capabilities include applied research in sensing, algorithms, defence, systems integration, software and test environments.
Swedish activity spans telecom, automation, automotive, sensing, space, defence, semiconductors, industrial systems and emerging neuromorphic products.
Funding agencies, public authorities, testbeds, incubators and innovation environments help connect research, infrastructure, skills and adoption.
Shared needs
Workshops and interviews repeatedly identified practical gaps that no individual actor can resolve alone.
Hardware, fabrication, cleanrooms, testbeds, realistic datasets and evaluation environments.
Tools and projects connecting materials, circuits, algorithms, software and application requirements.
Courses, shared teaching modules, mobility, industrial doctoral projects and professional development.
Transparent benchmarks and credible prototypes that test benefits in relevant operating conditions.
National matchmaking, international partnerships and a stronger coordinated presence in European programmes.
Support through the research-to-innovation gap, including IP, standards, startups and lab-to-fab pathways.
